Teaching Assistant
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire

We are partnering with several well-regarded secondary schools in Wellingborough, known for their inclusive and nurturing environments, to recruit Teaching Assistants. These schools pride themselves on fostering strong student-teacher relationships and promoting a culture of respect, high expectations, and personal growth. This full-time, long-term role offers the opportunity to work within vibrant, diverse communities, supporting young people aged 11-16 (or up to 18 in some schools).
About the Role:
1. Provide essential classroom support to teachers across a broad curriculum including English, Maths, Science, and Humanities
2. Assist students with additional needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping to remove barriers to learning
3. Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to personalised learning strategies
4. Work one-to-one or in small groups to boost student confidence, engagement, and academic progress
5. Promote positive behaviour and social skills through consistent support and encouragement
6. Help prepare and organise teaching materials and resources to enhance lesson delivery
7. Monitor student wellbeing and behaviour, reporting concerns to pastoral and teaching staff to ensure appropriate support is provided
We're Looking For:
8. Previous experience supporting children or young people, ideally within secondary education
9. A good understanding of SEND and strategies to support diverse learners
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, staff, and parents
11. Patience, empathy, and resilience to manage the varied demands of a busy classroom environment
12. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
13. Relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certification are advantageous but not essential
