The role is primarily home-based, with expectations to attend our Northallerton County Hall office when required.

About the Role:
* Public procurement processes and compliance
* Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
* Grants, subsidy control, and company law
* Local authority trading and governance
What We’re Looking For:
* You must be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FILEX with a practising certificate.
* Demonstrable experience in commercial contracts, procurement, or a related legal area.
* Excellent drafting and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly.
* A forward‑thinking, resilient professional able to provide timely solutions in a fast‑paced environment.
* The ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and elected Members.
* A knowledge of court procedures and attending court (if relevant).
* Local Authority experience is desirable but not essential; we welcome applications from all sectors.
