We are currently recruiting for an experienced Open Spaces Operative/Driver Operative to join a busy environmental services team. This is a hands-on outdoor role involving the operation of tractors and specialist equipment to maintain public green spaces across the county.
In the Open Spaces Operative/Driver role, you will be:
1. Driving and operating tractors and similar vehicles safely and efficiently
2. Carrying out daily vehicle checks, routine maintenance and cleaning
3. Operating tractor-mounted equipment including mowers, flails, harrows and trailers
4. Assisting with grounds maintenance and open spaces work as required
5. Removing, replacing and maintaining attachments and equipment
6. Disposing of waste and collections at designated sites
7. Completing timesheets, logbooks and other paperwork accurately
8. Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
9. Supporting safe working practices and health & safety procedures at all times
To be considered for the Open Spaces Operative/Driver role, you will need:
10. Experience operating tractors or similar machinery
11. Experience using tractor-mounted implements and attachments
12. A Lantra PTO qualification
13. Good communication and teamwork skills
14. The ability to work independently and use initiative
15. An understanding of health & safety procedures
16. A full UK driving licence
This is a temporary assignment expected to last approximately 8 weeks, offering a pay rate of £13.05 per hour plus holiday pay. Working hours will fall between 6am and 7pm on a rota basis, with weekend working required as part of the role.
