Are you an Occupational Therapist seeking a progressive, developmental role in mental health?
The Wiltshire Community Eating Disorder Service (WCEDS) is looking for a part‑time (30 hours) Band 5 Occupational Therapist who is looking to work towards a Band 6 post and is passionate about making a difference to adults suffering with an eating disorder.
You will be part of a team of dedicated and experienced multi‑disciplinary professionals working with adults with eating disorders and will receive the support necessary to confidently fulfil the role of a Band 6 Occupational Therapist.
With a reputation for excellence, our service provides a stepped model of care tailored to the individual’s needs for stabilisation and recovery. We offer a range of programmes and evidence‑based treatments to assist with this. We are a friendly, energetic and dynamic team who are proactive and visionary, focusing on excellent patient‑centred care.
Within this post, you will provide specialist eating‑disorder assessment and treatment for adults in a community setting across Wiltshire and Swindon.
You will have a professional qualification with current UK registration.
This job is going through job evaluation, so some of the responsibilities of the role may change.
There are exciting opportunities to be part of QI projects to develop services for the needs of the local population, including the development of the occupational therapy programme. You will develop close working relationships with CAMHS colleagues and support the transition of patients from CAMHS to adult services.
You will provide specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and evidence‑based, needs‑led treatment and discharge plans within the clinic and community setting. This could be on an individual or group basis.
You will have outstanding communication skills, ensuring the patient, carers and the rest of the clinical team are kept abreast of plans and updates by providing verbal and written feedback and reports. This will include attending clinical and professional meetings and liaising with other agencies involved in the individual’s care.
You will work with a multi‑disciplinary team of psychologists, CBT therapists, medics, dietitians and nurses in a holistic, patient‑centred manner to deliver the best quality care experience and ensure the needs of patients are met.
