**PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS A NATIONAL ROLE**
The Civils Operative will be required to perform excavations, repairs, and re-reinstatements, installation of ducting, chambers, street cabinets, and the installation of draw ropes on telecoms infrastructure located within the public highway and customers' premises, using up-to-date client standard operating procedures and in full compliance with current legislation, health and safety requirements, and company policies.
Responsibilities and duties
1. Drive and operate a 7.5t Tipper (where required)
2. Provide new installation of duct, chambers, and cabinets, and associated customer connections
3. Clear blockages in the highway and reinstate to industry standards, ensuring all information and photos are captured on company supplied assets (e.g., phone or tablet)
4. Be competent in the use of Stihl Saws, Wacker plates, trench compactors, jackhammers, and hold the correct certification to complete the works. Competency to use a mini digger would be an advantage.
5. Install new draw ropes to customer's connection points following installation of duct works and boxes
6. Complete appropriate paperwork for daily works on job sheets, risk assessments, plant sheets, and/or van sheets
7. Experience in risk assessment and hazard identification with a strong focus on health and safety responsibilities
8. Be responsible for the company assets and plant assigned to you
9. Treat internal and external customers with respect and provide support at all times
10. Ensure compliance with all current client processes and procedures
11. Communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external clients
Requirements
1. Hold a 7.5t Tipper license (where required)
2. Experience in a similar operational or engineering environment within the telecommunications industry is advantageous
3. Proven confident skills in street works with industry-recognized qualifications
4. Hold a full UK driver’s license
5. Hold qualifications such as NRSWA, CSCS or equivalent, CPCS
6. Be in good physical health
