Job Title: General Foreman (Civils)

We are recruiting a General Foreman for upcoming junction improvement works in West Leeds, within our civil engineering business unit, Sisk Infrastructure.
The General Foreman reports to the Contracts Manager and collaborates closely with the Quantity Surveyor. Responsibilities include managing the onsite programme, ensuring quality workmanship and safety, and coordinating resources such as labor, plant, materials, and subcontractors in line with contract requirements and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Establish and monitor key stage programmes.
2. Set up the site, maintain site security, and ensure a tidy appearance.
3. Take possession of the site, plan, and coordinate trades activities.
4. Apply for temporary service connections.
5. Interpret drawings and specifications; communicate directions to site personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers.
6. Ensure completion of method statements and risk assessments for high-risk activities.
7. Coordinate with the professional team for information requests and verbal instructions.
8. Secure necessary approvals to prevent project delays.
9. Review buildability and suggest construction methods that offer commercial or programme advantages.
10. Implement environmental controls in collaboration with the Environmental Co-ordinator.
11. Attend and document site meetings.
12. Communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and third parties.
13. Demonstrate a minimum of ten years' experience in construction management with a similar contractor.
14. Apply strong analytical, organizational, and proactive planning skills.
15. Hold a First Aid at Work certificate and relevant HSE training such as IOSH, Temporary Works & Excavation Safety, Working at Heights, Lifting & Cranage, and other site-specific HSE courses.
