GSL Education are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Sheffield, S10. As a SEMH TA, you will have a valuable opportunity to support pupils facing behavioural, emotional, or mental health challenges, helping them to fully engage in their learning in a safe and nurturing setting. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include: Providing targeted 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEMH needs. Assisting in the development and delivery of personalised learning and behaviour plans. Encouraging positive behaviour, resilience, and emotional wellbeing in pupils. Building strong and trusting relationships to promote self-confidence and engagement. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure effective support. To be successful as an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you should: Have experience supporting young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or additional learning requirements. Possess excellent communication, empathy, and behaviour management skills. Be patient, adaptable, and committed to pupil wellbeing and progress. Hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one. Provide a full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment over the last 10 years.
