Business Support Officer Job Description & PS Summary Hounslow Music Service is a charity providing instrumental and vocal tuition to school-aged children in the London Borough of Hounslow. We are seeking a cheerful, organised and enthusiastic Business Support Officer to join our friendly team in central Hounslow. Sharing duties with an existing staff member, you’ll be the first point of contact for parents, teachers and service users — the welcoming face of the service. The ideal candidate will be personable, flexible, and able to multitask in a busy office, with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude. Key responsibilities: Provide comprehensive administration and daily data entry for pupil, teacher and instrument records. Act as first point of contact for phone, email and visitors; manage voicemail and enquiries. Produce social media content and ads; support events and project administration (e.g. instrument audit). Raise purchase orders and support the Senior Leadership Team. Maintain a welcoming, professional reception area and up-to-date office information. Other duties: Undertake tasks as directed by the CEO and Office Manager. Occasionally work outside normal hours or at different locations for events (with agreement). Undertake required training. Post subject to enhanced DBS disclosure. No annual leave during term time. Person specification: Essential: Right to work in the UK; GCSE English & Maths; strong admin/clerical experience; confident communicator; good IT skills (Microsoft Office); organised and reliable. Desirable: Reception/customer service experience; database/marketing skills; interest/experience in music education.
