Job summary

We are looking for an experienced medicalreceptionist to join our team at Hollyoaks Medical Centre.

We require a receptionist with a good understandingof EMIS WEB and proven experience of working in a fast paced environment. Theideal candidate will be highly motivated and able to work under pressure tomeet deadlines.

We require a receptionist with a good understanding of EMIS WEB. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated andable to work under pressure to meet deadlines. You will need to be a confident,loyal, hard-working, team player with excellent communication skills and acan-do approach to your work.

Job responsibilities

Reception/Administration duties:

Providing thefirst point of contact to patients and other visitors to enable access toappropriate services in a professional and courteous manner.

To have a thoroughknowledge and work in accordance ofpractice policies and procedures.

Receive and maketelephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracyof detail and prompt appropriate delivery.

Liaise with localhospitals and other agencies as appropriate.

Receive telephonecalls and enter them onto triage list as appropriate, ensuring accurateinformation is recorded to enable the clinical team to deal with patient querieseffectively.

Give results of investigations/tests,i.e. blood, urine, etc. to patients

Registration ofnew patients and updating patients' records as required.

Deal with allgeneral inquiries, explain procedures, and make new and follow-up appointments.

To Provide supportfor clinicians to enable the effective day-to-day running of the practice.

To undertake anyother tasks allocated by doctors /managers.

RepeatPrescriptions:

To have a thoroughknowledge of the repeat prescription procedures

Action repeatprescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collection by thepatient within 48 hours.

To deal withqueries relating to repeat prescriptions
