Scientist I (Imaging Assay Development)
You are an imaging scientist with hands‑on experience in immunofluorescence or FISH. You enjoy working at the bench, solving technical challenges, and building assays that actually translate into clinical impact.
We are partnered with a Guildford‑based diagnostics organisation developing advanced liquid biopsy technologies to detect and characterise rare cancer cells. This is a company at the intersection of biology, engineering, and clinical application, combining imaging and molecular approaches to unlock new insights into disease.
As Scientist I – Imaging Assay Development, you will play a key role in designing, optimising, and validating immunofluorescence and FISH‑based assays. This is a hands‑on, technically rich role where you will work across the full assay lifecycle in a regulated setting, collaborating closely with molecular scientists and bioinformaticians.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, optimise, and validate IF and FISH imaging assays
* Develop multiplex staining protocols and signal amplification strategies
* Operate and maintain fluorescence microscopy and imaging platforms
About You
* MSc or PhD in Biomedical Sciences or related field
* 1–2 years’ experience in imaging assay development
* Strong hands‑on expertise in immunofluorescence and/or FISH
Location: Guildford
