HYBRID CAPITAL OVERVIEW
Hybrid Capitalprovides flexible solutions for businesses seeking non-controlalternatives to traditional private equity or greater flexibility thantraditional debt. We principally deploy the West Street StrategicSolutions Fund I, a $14bn fund raised in 2020.
Analysts andAssociates work as part of small deal teams in a wide range of highprofile transactions across the capital structure ranging from secureddebt to minority common equity. The role is highly analytical withemphasis on fundamental valuation, financial modelling, analysis offinancial accounts, and legal documentation. The work is deal-focusedand dynamic, and will bring you in contact with a wide range ofbusinesses, industries, geographies, investment structures andproducts as well as advisors and management teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Engaging in allaspects of due diligence and business analysis including but notlimited to financial modelling / analysis, fundamental valuationanalysis, market research, competition analysis to develop and refineinvestment theses
* Participating in structuring, negotiatingand documenting investments
* Communicating and defendinginvestment theses to internal stakeholders and committees, includingrelevant Asset Management and Firm-wide Investment Committees
* Actively monitoring existing investments in the portfolio
* Originating investment ideas via early engagement with relevantparties (e.g., financial sponsors, company management teams, founders)
* Building relationships with sponsors, management teams andinternal GS stakeholders
SKILLS &EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* Investment Banking orPrincipal Investing candidate with 1 to 2 years of experience
* Strong academic record with Bachelor's degree, Master'sdegree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Business Studies,Industrial Engineering or a related discipline from a distinguishedacademic institution required
* Prior work experience inprivate equity, private credit is a plus
* Strongquantitative, financial modelling, analytical and problem-solvingskills
* Passion for investing with an interest in complexcredit and equity investments
* Flexible and creative mindset;ability to analyze a variety of industries and businesses
* Confident verbal and written communication / interpersonal skillsessential
* Solid work ethic and high levels of motivationrequired
* Excellent MS Excel skills essential and knowledgeof MS Power Point
* Fluency in one or more of French, German,Italian or Spanish is an advantage
* Ability to self-direct,analyze and evaluate and form independent judgments
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required
