University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL) is looking for highly motivated and skilled Physician Associates (PAs) to join the Dermatology Department. UHL already has physician associates currently working across a variety of medical and surgical Specialities including the Children’s Emergency Department. In this role youwill work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary dermatology team, providing high‑quality, patient‑centred care under the supervision of a Consultant Dermatologist or Dermatological Surgeon The post holder will support the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow‑up of patients with suspected or confirmed skin cancer and those undergoing dermatological surgical procedures. The role includes outpatient clinics, procedural assistance, patient education, and contribution to service development while adhering to NHS governance, clinical safety, and regulatory standards. Undertake comprehensive patient assessments, including dermatological history taking and focused skin examinations. Assist in the diagnosis and management of benign and malignant skin lesions. Participate in skin cancer referral pathways, including urgent suspected cancer (2‑week wait) clinics. Assist in and, where appropriately trained and authorised, perform dermatological surgical procedures, such as punch biopsies,curettage and cautery and shave biopsies. Surgical assisting in excisions and Mohs micrographic surgery (where applicable). Provide pre‑ and post‑operative care, including wound assessment, dressing changes, and patient advice.
