Student Services supports students at each stage of their journey from pre-entry to post exit. The department has a student orientated culture and puts students needs at the heart of everything it does.
Responsibilities
* As our Youth Worker, you will work as a member of the team to contribute to a wide and varied programme, including co-leading and delivering a range of activities to students. You will set up and deliver a programme of Enrichment activities across the College and pro-actively build positive relationships with students.
* You will engage with students around the campus, formally and informally, to ensure attendance at lessons, maintain safe and welcoming social spaces and corridors, and uphold reasonable standards of behaviour.
* This role involves working with and delivering activities to young people, predominantly aged 16–18 from diverse backgrounds, understanding their needs and issues, and positively engaging to improve behaviour, skills and confidence in challenging situations.
Qualifications and experience
* Qualified to Level 3 or above in an appropriate area (Youth and Community, Education, Psychology, Sociology, Health & Social Care or IAG).
* Experience of leading on the planning and delivery of enrichment activities and events to support and enhance the student experience, and ability to deliver student workshops/presentations or tutorials to a diverse range of students.
* Experience of safeguarding practice/procedures/referral and willingness to achieve a Level 3 safeguarding qualification within the first 6 months of commencing this role.
