Randstad Student Support is seeking experienced one-on-one Study Skills Support Workers to assist students with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) in Edinburgh. Join us in making a difference in their educational journeys!
Starting as soon as possible, this hybrid role offers flexibility for both in-person and online sessions, tailored to student preferences.
Essential Criteria
* Teaching or tutoring experience,
* or
* In-depth knowledge of learning difficulties that students may have
As a Specialist Study Skills Support Worker, you'll provide personalized learning support, including:
* Developing individual learning plans to foster independence
* Building on strengths and effective learning strategies
* Enhancing organization and time management skills
* Creating action plans to stay on track
* Improving research and comprehension skills
* Experience assisting students with Autism is a significant advantage.
It's essential to address student needs on a case-by-case basis while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Share relevant information with Randstad to ensure the best service for your students.
Desirable Skills
* Experience working with clients with specific learning difficulties
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to help students build on their learning strengths while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
* Punctuality and reliability
* Good organizational skills
* Relevant professional memberships: PATOSS, BDA, ADSHE, Dyslexia Guild
Additional requirements include managing a caseload of students.
