Network Engineer

We're partnered with a technology-driven firm operating in a high-uptime, low-latency environment to hire a Network Engineer for their Belfast office. The business is expanding its footprint in the region, and this hire will be a key part of supporting internal systems, external connectivity, and ongoing infrastructure projects.
You'll join a globally distributed technology team and play a hands-on role in the daily monitoring, support, and maintenance of core network systems. This role will also contribute to long-term improvements around security, disaster recovery, and design upgrades - ideal for someone early in their networking career who wants to develop in a high-standards environment.
What You'll Be Doing
* Monitor network health, performance, and uptime
* Provide 1st-line network support for clients and external partners
* Run and document routine failover and recovery tests
* Support internal users with hardware and basic IT queries
* Assist in provisioning and deploying new networking infrastructure
* Maintain accurate documentation including network maps and config logs
* Help plan and implement network security measures
* Escalate complex incidents to senior engineering teams
* Manage user permissions and troubleshoot access issues
What They're Looking For
* Degree in networking, computer science, or related discipline
* 1-3 years' experience in network operations or support
* Familiarity with networking protocols, firewalls, and switches
* Experience with Cisco, or similar hardware is useful
* Exposure to multicast or cloud networking is a bonus
* Comfortable using ticketing systems in a support workflow
* Strong written documentation and troubleshooting skills
* Knowledge of Windows environments and office productivity tools
* Clear communication and a proactive mindset
* Detail-oriented and reliable under pressure
* Based in Belfast or within commuting distance.
