Desired Competencies (Technical / Behavioral)
Must-Have:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a strong understanding of mechanical design principles and analysis in powertrain sizing area for automotive applications.
Significant knowledge & practical experience of using powertrains.
Project management, leadership and planning skills are essential, along with good teamwork and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strategic thinking is also essential.
Understanding of benchmarking reports from the market for powertrain systems.
Good-to-Have:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
Over 5 years of proven experience in powertrain mechanical sizing for Battery Electric / Hybrid automotive vehicle applications.
Responsibilities / Expectations from the Role
Hardware sizing of powertrains for vehicle attribute requirements that meet market demands under various conditions.
Understand market benchmarking and technologies associated with hybridization (PHEV/MHEV) and electrification architectures.
Handle mechanical integration of powertrain hardware with other vehicle systems, addressing power supply and mechanical interface considerations.
Work closely with other teams, including software, electrical, and vehicle integration, to define future operational requirements.
Contribute to the design and development of propulsion systems for next-generation vehicles, with a focus on electrification.
