Senior Staff Nurse (West Ward – Haematology) – Secondment (6 months maternity cover)

Job Overview

Responsibilities
* Facilitate a coordinated, high‑quality outpatient service to haematology patients in consultation with the ward manager and Clinical Nurse Specialists.
* Provide efficient, effective and evidence‑based nursing care to patients.
* Recognise life‑threatening reactions and act appropriately.
* Organise workload in line with clinical priorities.
* Work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Support the Ward Sister and manage day‑to‑day running of the unit in her absence.
Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Registered Nurse
* SACT Trained
Desirable criteria
* Evidence of leadership/management and speciality development
* Chemotherapy training
Experience
Essential criteria
* At least 2 years post‑registration with Oncology‑Haematology experience
* Experience in mentoring, facilitation, teaching, assessing and coaching
* Significant recent experience in a post‑qualification speciality
Skills
Essential criteria
* Good IT skills
* Excellent clinical skills in haematology speciality

* Must have appropriate UK professional registration.
