We have a fantastic opportunity for a Team Leader to join our team based in Burton, Staffordshire.
This is a full time, permanent position working 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday. There is some requirement to be on-call (additional pay received when on-call). This will be discussed further at interview.
The Team Leader will support the Operations Manager with the “day to day” operational delivery in support of EMED goals, with a clear focus on performance delivery and clinical quality of all frontline patient transport services. Ensuring all quality and governance requirements meet objectives and performance targets.
There will be a requirement to complete road based duties where there is an operational need so Ambulance Care Assistant training will be provided as part of the role.
Role Responsibilities
1. Business Performance and Service Delivery – Deliver excellent customer service by ensuring the prompt departure of Ambulance Care Assistants from base.
2. Compliance – Assist the Compliance Team with daily, weekly and monthly Health and Safety base checks to ensure that the base and any equipment is fully compliant at all times.
3. Fleet –Liaise with the Fleet supervisor to ensure that all vehicles are suitable for road use and undertake vehicle checks to ensure that performance and hygiene is optimal.
4. Data Management – Ensure that personal data management systems are kept up to date with all employees’ details to ensure the accuracy of payroll and annual leave.
5. KPIs – Support the Operations Manager with delivery of KPIs, providing innovative ideas for improvement.
6. Budgets – Assist the Contract Manager to ensure the effective management of all resources.
7. People Management – Conduct probationary reviews with Ambulance Care Assistants in line with Company policy.
8. Employee Relations Support – Complete thorough and fair investigations prior to disciplinary, delivering a succinct and solid case to the disciplinary chair when completed.
9. Recruitment – Participate in recruitment and selection processes, ensuring personal adherence to policies and procedures.
10. Training – Ensure all areas of the contract deliver excellent patient service by delivering Annual Skills Development training and conducting driving assessments as and when required
11. Ad-hoc – Attend weekly management meetings, providing suitable data as required. Provide the Contract Manager with data in a timely manner. Conduct property risk assessments as and when required to ensure safe and suitable access for Ambulance Crews.
12. Health and Safety – Ensure that the workplace is safe for everyone by taking reasonable care not to do anything that might endanger you or others.

16. A minimum of one year recent management/supervisor experience
17. The ability to build strong, effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels
18. An effective communicator and experience of communicating with others in what can often be emotional circumstances
19. Meticulously organised with a proven track record of successfully reaching deadlines
20. Be physically fit for patient handling and moving
21. To be a calm, considerate, careful driver, with no more than 6 penalty points on your license
22. Pass an Enhanced DBS check (company funded)
23. Previous experience working as an Ambulance Care Assistant would be advantageous.
