Ready to Take the Next Step in Your Social Care Career?
Become a Senior Support Worker with MacIntyre
Are you passionate about supporting others and looking to develop your career? At MacIntyre, we’ll help you take that next step by combining hands-on support work with opportunities to lead, guide and inspire others. As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll continue to make a real difference in people’s lives while building your confidence, leadership skills and experience within a supportive team.
What Makes This Role Special
This position bridges direct support and leadership. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys being involved in daily life with the people we support but also wants to grow into future management or specialist roles. We understand that stepping up can feel like a big change, and that’s completely normal. Many of our senior colleagues, including managers and directors, began in roles just like this. They took this opportunity, developed their skills and confidence, and found their own career path. Now it could be your turn.
About the Role
This role is shared between two of our services, giving you the chance to work with a wider range of people and develop your skills in different settings. You’ll divide your time between both services, supporting the teams and individuals in each location while ensuring consistency and high-quality support throughout. You’ll be part of two warm, welcoming homes that support adults aged 40 to 65 to live as independently as possible. Each day will bring variety, whether you are:
* Supporting someone to join a local activity or try something new
* Helping with daily routines and personal goals
* Promoting independence and wellbeing
* Being there to listen, share a laugh, and make life a little brighter
You’ll also take on some leadership responsibilities, including:
* Helping to plan and organise staff rotas across both services
* Supervising and supporting your team members
* Assisting with recruitment and induction
* Stepping in for the frontline manager when needed
Whatever strengths you bring, whether it’s a love of cooking, gardening, or simply a positive attitude, you’ll make a genuine difference every day.
Training and Support
Some of the people we support may need help with personal care, medication, or may display behaviours that can be challenging. You’ll receive full, specialist training and ongoing support from your manager and senior colleagues so that you feel confident and well prepared in your role.
Working Hours
This is a shift-based role that includes early and late shifts, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins. Example shifts include:
* Early: 07:30 15:00
* Late: 14:30 22:00
We plan rotas carefully to help everyone maintain a healthy work-life balance.
Take the Next Step
If you’re ready to grow your career, lead with compassion and continue making a difference across two vibrant services, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and discover where a career with MacIntyre could take you.
