The Role:
As Team Leader within this residential care home, you will be responsible for the safeguarding and wellbeing of all residents, ensuring that personal care is provided in a way that maintains and respects their privacy, dignity, and lifestyle.
What you’ll be doing:
* Put care plans in place from a resident’s first day and keep risk assessments up to date
* Communicate with the catering team about residents’ dietary needs and update them if things change
* Help organise daily tasks and fairly delegate duties to junior staff as directed by management
* Register residents for the services they need
* Take the lead in emergencies such as safeguarding concerns, complaints, accidents or sudden deaths
* Administer medication, order supplies monthly and carry out weekly medication checks
* Support housekeeping tasks during night shifts as needed
* Stay informed about best practices in elderly care
* Follow health and safety policies and work well with other departments
* Be flexible – duties may vary depending on the needs of the service, and you’ll be part of the on-call rota
Skills and Experience Required:
* A minimum of 3 years working within the care sector
* 2 years supervisory experience
* Good people skills with a caring and compassionate nature
* Great organisational skills, staying calm under pressure
* A positive, professional, and proactive approach
* Experience with creating care plans
* A confident leader
* A valid UK driving licence
