About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Organisational Development Assistant (Talent Acquisition & OD Projects) to join our dynamic HR department. This varied role is perfect for someone who is people focused and wants to build their experience across both Talent Acquisition and OD.

You will be the go-to person for all things recruitment related – from advertising, coordinating interviews, and supporting hiring managers, right through to onboarding. You will also play an integral part in supporting a range of OD projects such as staff surveys, wellbeing initiatives, and equality, diversity & inclusion (ED&I) programmes, which will help drive our People Plan forward.

Please note we are open to discussing part-time hours for this post.

What you can bring

The successful candidate will have a keen interest in supporting recruitment campaigns to attract the right people to the University which will require the ability to listen, understand stakeholder needs, and working collaboratively to help shape practical, effective solutions.

You will have a keen eye for detail and a desire to contribute to meaningful projects that align with organisational goals. Confidence using digital tools such as Microsoft Teams is also important, as you will often be collaborating and communicating with colleagues in a virtual environment.

What we can offer you

Our University is not just a place of academic excellence, but also a community that embraces inclusivity and support. We value our staff and offer a rewarding package that goes beyond just salary. At the University of Sunderland, we prioritise not only your professional growth but also your happiness and well-being.

Equality, diversity & inclusion

We strongly believe that an inclusive university, where a diverse range of individuals feel valued and have equal opportunity to get into work and reach their potential, is good for our staff, students, university, and society.

Our work on equality, diversity and inclusivity has never been more important. We believe inclusivity is an essential value at the heart of what we do, and we want all our staff to be part of that journey with us. Our recent staff survey conducted in 2023 showed that 97% of our staff believed that we were committed to achieving an inclusive university.
