The opportunity: We are looking for a Paralegal to join our highly-regarded Intellectual Property team at Baker McKenzie, Belfast. The successful applicant will support the Firm's Intellectual Property practice, handling IP prosecution, maintenance, and transactional work in a deadline-driven environment. You will work on IP portfolios of global clients, requiring a global mindset and effective coordination with teams worldwide. The role involves working with diverse colleagues and external counsel, providing key support to senior professionals.

Main responsibilities include:
1. Handling technical trade mark formalities, including registration, prosecution, and renewal.
2. Preparing client reports independently.
3. Supporting global IP M&A activities, such as recording assignments and licenses.
4. Conducting comprehensive IP asset due diligence using official registries and databases.
5. Supporting anti-counterfeiting programs, including drafting guides and liaising with infringers.
6. Performing trade mark searches and drafting reports.
7. Developing legal expertise to support firm lawyers and clients.
Services and process standards:
1. Understanding and following firm procedures.
2. Maintaining quality standards and managing workload effectively.
3. Assisting with docket and deadline management.
4. Ensuring compliance with firm standards.
Essential criteria include a relevant undergraduate degree (2.1 or above preferred), legal background with IP experience (preferred), UK work authorization, and a passion for IP. Desirable criteria include CITMA qualification.
