The Terrace is the only Isle of Wight restaurant listed in the Michelin, AA, Good Food and Harden's guides. Our kitchen is spotlessly clean and very well organised and our team are all very good cooks with positive attitudes.
We think there are chefs on The Island who want to train & develop within a like-minded team committed to quality and learning rather than cutting corners to get to the pub as quickly as possible after service.
Between April and September our kitchen team will need to hire three seasonal chefs to cater for the 180 covers we serve each day seven days a week.
We don't mind the level someone is at. If you've run a section, great. If you've lead team, great. If you're just starting out, no problem. Most importantly you'll enjoy cooking for a living, want to work with good products and win accolades but also please guests, learn and have good relationships colleagues.
A positive outlook and approach are essential. We can accomodate anyone with the right personal qualities and find roles to suit but we will never hire someone who doesn't care about their output or their colleagues. We are also happy to consider inexperienced hires for cleaning or kitchen porter roles with training as a chef offered.
Several of our team have commpleted stages in Michelin-starred restaurants arranged by our GM. We can teach you butchery, baking, creating dishes, costing menus or just rotating around sections.
We offer 30-50 hour weeks over four or five days depending on your preference.
This job is located in Yarmouth overlooking the Harbour.
