Job Purpose:
The Volunteer Engagement Co-Ordinator is responsible for volunteer retention and coordination across the organization, ensuring effective data management, volunteer recruitment, induction, support, and service development in collaboration with service leads and senior management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Volunteer Coordination: Implement recruitment strategies, oversee the volunteer database, match skills to projects, process Access NI checks, update role descriptions, organize training, develop new initiatives, promote volunteering, and maintain communication and recognition programs.
2. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning: Develop monitoring and evaluation processes, assess outcomes, support case study development, and coordinate volunteer satisfaction surveys, ensuring alignment with funding and organizational standards.
3. Quality Assurance & Development: Review and develop policies, promote diversity and inclusion, and ensure compliance with legislation and best practices.
4. Data & Information Management: Collect and analyze data, ensure GDPR compliance, and support service improvement and fundraising efforts.
5. External Relationships: Build stakeholder relationships, attend external meetings, and develop partnerships with agencies across sectors.
6. General: Support volunteers within a multidisciplinary team, promote services, and undertake additional duties as required. Flexibility for evening and weekend work is necessary.
Person Specification:
Essential Skills & Experience: Experience in volunteer training, event organization, people management; good communication, organizational, negotiation skills; IT proficiency; ability to work independently and in teams; adaptable and empathetic attitude; full driving license and access to transport.
Desirable: Experience in health/social care, community engagement, volunteer program development, relevant qualifications, and management training.
