We are currently recruiting for a General Manager; you will be covering two sites and will be responsible for leading the operations. Everything from leading and developing teams to regular interaction with your customers. We need commercially astute, dynamic leaders who want to be part of a growing business.

What you’ll do on a typical day:
1. You will be accountable for the operational & financial performance of multiple sites across a central region.
2. Promote a safety culture throughout the network, leading by example and actively participating and supporting safety campaigns and initiatives.
3. Provide operational leadership to the team of Site Managers by setting achievable goals and encouraging innovation.
4. Develop a clear understanding of financial and operational metrics to ensure the sites deliver the right balance of cost and service.
5. Actively champion engagement and welfare across the sites with focus on colleague retention and minimal attrition.
6. Interaction with internal and external customers to understand their requirements and identify opportunities to expand current relationships.
7. Ensure sites are compliant with all legislative and internal processes and procedures, taking timely and appropriate action where this is not the case.
8. Encourage and support development and progression within the team and devise a clear succession plan across each site.
9. Maintain a visible presence across the network of sites, understanding the various service offerings and complexities of the shared user operation and developing a culture of continuous improvement.
10. Active participation in existing daily processes including network calls, finance reviews & QSHE meetings.
What you need to succeed at XPO:
11. Senior management experience within the transport / warehousing sector
12. Ability to work with autonomy using your own initiative once objectives have been agreed
13. Experience in managing multiple sites or contracts
14. Proven capability to create high performance teams in a number of scenarios such as new business implementation, operational improvement
15. Ability to build strong and lasting commercial relationships
16. Demonstrable commercial and financial acumen
17. Proven leadership ability
18. Ability to manage multiple reporting lines effectively
19. Ability to manage complexity and uncertainty
