Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Registered Nurse (NMC)
2. Post registration Master’s degree in nursing or related field or working at relevant senior level.
3. Management/leadership qualification or equivalent experience at post graduate level
4. Further relevant training
Experience
Essential criteria
5. Relevant management experience within the NHS, with specialist training to at least masters level.
6. Senior Clinical experience of working within acute hospital inpatient services with a significant bed base (over 300 beds) with significant interaction with integrated discharge services including evidence of shared delivery with social care, community and VCSE partners
7. Experience of effective management of significant revenue budget and of effective leadership of staff
8. A proven success in business planning and in the development and effective implementation of strategic plans
9. Experience of leading and supervising a team
Desirable criteria
10. Experience of service redesign and development
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
11. Working knowledge and understanding of NHS targets and other topical NHS issues including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and NHS intermediate care and Continuing Health Funding guidance and policies
12. Experience of developing Standard Operating Policies and Procedures and guidance material for staff
13. Excellent communication skills, including negotiation, with the proven ability to liaise effectively within a multidisciplinary team-based environment.
14. Ability to coach and develop skills in other acting as a specialist Subject Matter Expert for senior staff within the organisation
15. Demonstrate a strong understanding of multidisciplinary issues and commitment to multidisciplinary working
16. IT literate: proficient in the use of word processing and spreadsheet packages
17. Ability to meet deadlines and complete tasks within agreed time scales
