These roles are the foundation of our operations and will support the distillery with all activities and processes involved from malted barley intake to spirit dispatch, supporting the operation of the distillery bio plant, alongside working within the on-site maturation warehouses and all future site-based filling/disgorging activities. As a small hands-on team these are all cross functional roles and offer exciting opportunities for those who want to be a part of a company with ambitious growth and expansion plans. Key Responsibilities Process Operator Order, receipt and store raw materials (Malt, Yeast, Chemicals, Consumables) Prepare malted barley for mashing process Process grist to produce high quality wort for fermentation Control and monitor fermentation process to produce fully fermented wash Process fermented wash to produce new malt distillate to the required quality Evaluate new malt distillate quality Transfer new malt distillate to SRWVs and carry out and record accurate spirit account Prepare new spirit and dispatch by road tanker, including HMRC paperwork Complete documentation and accounts accurately Carry out routine organoleptic evaluation of raw materials and new malt distillate and take corrective action when appropriate Carry out routine chemical/process analytical evaluation of raw materials and finished product and co-product and take corrective action when appropriate Conduct an appropriate handover of operations at every shift change Operator Asset Care, including basic routine maintenance tasks and cleaning Operate a computer-based process system (SCADA) Complete work in Windows based and other operating software packages Routine compliance checks for quality, environmental, food & feed safety, risk management and HMRC Target monitoring relating to health and safety, quality, production efficiency, energy management, environmental impact, production planning and cost efficiency Full compliance with all statutory regulations and internal procedures pertaining to site risk, Food & Feed Safety, HMRC and environmental constraints Candidates must be aware that the distillery operates a rotating shift pattern that currently covers 5 days a week, 24 hours a day Cross function working within warehousing and / or bio-plant operations during non-process shifts This is not an exhaustive list of duties and maybe added to or deleted from as required to meet the changing needs of the business
