Assistant Commercial Manager | Swindon | £45,000 + Car Allowance | PFI experience essential
A leading infrastructure and facilities management organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Commercial Manager to support the delivery of a long-term PFI contract in the Swindon area.

The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day commercial management of a high-profile PFI contract. Working closely with operational teams across both Hard and Soft FM services, you will help ensure robust financial control and contractual compliance across the project.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the Commercial Manager in the commercial administration of the PFI contract
* Assisting with cost management, forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting
* Managing variations, change control processes, and compensation events in line with contractual mechanisms
* Monitoring KPIs, payment mechanisms, and lifecycle obligations
* Supporting subcontractor management, including valuations, applications for payment, and agreement of final accounts
* Ensuring compliance with contract terms and internal governance procedures
* Assisting with audits, benchmarking exercises, and client reporting requirements
The Candidate
The successful candidate will bring proven experience working within a PFI environment and a strong understanding of Facilities Management across both Hard and Soft services.
You will ideally demonstrate:
* Experience in a commercial or quantity surveying role within Facilities Management
* A solid understanding of payment mechanisms, lifecycle cost management, and change control processes
* Strong analytical, numerical, and reporting capabilities
* The ability to build effective working relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
* A degree or recognised qualification in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline
* Working knowledge of NEC contracts, bespoke PFI agreements, or long-term service contracts
