Salary: £46,775.42 with a 5% shift allowance and on call available
Contract: Full time / Permanent
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Supervisor to join our team at HMP Littlehey, a Category C/YOI prison. HMP Littlehey runs like a self‑contained facility, and as the Facilities Maintenance Team we are committed to driving smooth and safe operation. The role involves working Monday‑Sunday as part of a supportive and driven team, and you will lead and collaborate with plumbers, electricians, carpenters, painters, cleaners, and administrators to maintain a safe environment.

* EAL Diploma in Plumbing and Heating
* City & Guilds 6009/Q1014058 - Mechanical Engineering Services: Plumbing (Domestic)
* BPEC Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heating
* City & Guilds 6189 - Plumbing and Domestic Heating
* City & Guilds 6032 - Advanced Craft Certificate in Plumbing
* City & Guilds 5962 - Certificate in Plumbing (Advanced Craft)
* City & Guilds 6019 - Mechanical Engineering Services (Plumbing)
* City & Guilds 6288‑31 - Heating and Ventilating Craftsperson (Industrial & Commercial)
* ETA Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance
* City & Guilds 6188 - Heating and Ventilating
* City & Guilds 6088 - Certificate in Heating and Ventilating
* City & Guilds 6018 - Heating and Ventilation Installation
* City & Guilds 214 - Engineering Systems Maintenance
* A minimum of five years’ experience, ideally within an FM environment and/or secure environment, military, health or similar sectors.
* Experience working on commercial or industrial heating, water or building service systems.
* Familiar with, and ability to, work to Water Supply Regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
* Good Health & Safety knowledge.
* Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
* A rounded knowledge of risk and compliance and demonstrable planning & project management skills.
