Role

1. To contribute to the learning, support and assessment of students in the practice environment (formative and summative), including those related to the development of clinical skills and competencies through simulated practice
2. To develop and apply innovative and appropriate teaching techniques and material which create interest, understanding and enthusiasm amongst students
3. To carry out ongoing curriculum review, including module content and materials and contribute to the development of teaching and learning strategies
4. To undertake effectively a range of administrative responsibilities

Skills, Experience & Qualifications needed

5. Undergraduate degree in Nursing or Midwifery, and current registration as a Nurse or Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Council
6. Detailed knowledge of contemporary clinical practice, sufficient to develop teaching and provide relevant learning support to students across different levels of academic ability
7. Knowledge and experience of supporting, monitoring and enhancing the quality of practice learning environments
8. Knowledge of NMC Standards for Student Supervision and Assessment (SSSA), and delivery of safe and effective learning experiences for students in practice
9. Ability to engage with practice partners, supervisors and assessors to facilitate and enhance effective learning and assessment in clinical practice environments
