We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our clients growing aerospace engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the design and development of high-precision mechanical systems used in cutting‑edge aerospace applications. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver robust, reliable, and manufacturable solutions for demanding environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop high-precision mechanical assemblies for aerospace systems and components
* Create detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks, ensuring compliance with aerospace drawing standards
* Perform FEA simulations (structural, thermal, flow) to validate performance under aerospace operating conditions
* Collaborate with manufacturing partners to ensure designs are optimised for CNC machining, assembly, and aerospace-grade reliability
* Manage design documentation using PDM/PLM systems, including ECO/ECN processes
* Work closely with cross‑functional teams in electronics, RF, and systems engineering
Experience Required
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
* Strong proficiency with 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred)
* Experience designing high-precision mechanical assemblies
* Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
* Practical experience with FEA tools
* Excellent understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing standards
* Knowledge of high‑volume manufacturing processes
* Experience with thermal management of electronics
