Secondary School Teacher (to teach English up to GCSE level, with key worker responsibilities)

Location: Bristol

Contract: Permanent

Working Hours: Full time (40 hours a week). Term time only (term times as stipulated by Bristol City Council).

Salary Range: £33,483 - £45,350 (dependent on skills and experience).

Start date: ASAP (dependent on completion of satisfactory reference and DBS checks).

We support children and young people living in Bristol, South Glos and the surrounding areas, providing engaging play and youth work embedded in communities. We also provide personalised part-time and full-time alternative education environments for children and young people to overcome barriers to engagement and learning.

What we do:

At LPW, we provide safe, emotionally supportive and enriching spaces where children and young people can: build trusted and trauma-informed relationships; grow in confidence and independence; overcome challenges; and have ownership of their learning and future.

In this role, your primary areas of responsibility will be to:

1. Plan, deliver and regularly support the review of an engaging curriculum to ensure the needs of the organisation and its learners are met
2. Encourage the development of positive aAitudes to learning through well-planned teaching experiences
3. Have a creative and innovative approach to planning and teaching to re-engage disaffected learners in education and overcome barriers to learning
4. Work effectively with a team of Teachers and support staff to plan and deliver a personalised learning program for learners
5. Monitor learner progress through regular formative and summative assessments
6. Strong knowledge of assessment for learning strategies and differentiation
7. Ensure that the quality of your teaching, learning and assessment is good or beAer, working with colleagues to achieve this through a team approach.
8. Support the preparation for OFSTED inspections and ensure the Independent Schools Standards are met
9. Monitor student learning, social, emotional and behavioural progress against targets
10. Ensure that safeguarding and child protection policies are complied with.

Experience and AAributes:

11. QTS or relevant experience.
12. A strong desire to have an impact on the lives of vulnerable young people.
13. Successful experience of Key Stage 4 teaching with positive student outcomes.
14. Interest in working holistically with a child centered approach.
15. Be an innovative contributor to care packages for young people.
16. Special Educational Needs (SEND) knowledge and experience working with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH); although not essential.
17. The ability to implement clear, consistent and effective approaches to learning, securing excellent relationships and behaviour.
18. Experience of working within a team of people and contributing to quality assurance processes.
19. Experience of meeting requirements of external inspections and standards.
