You’ll play a key role in supporting the council’s parking operations, working closely with Parking Administrators to respond to public enquiries, Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, and high-level parking complaints.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Specialised Parking Officer (Business Support Officer), your responsibilities will include:
Managing and responding to FOI requests, including complex and politically sensitive cases
Handling public enquiries and complaints via email, phone, and in person
Drafting reports on parking usage, revenue, and enforcement activity
Using parking software systems (e.g. Chipside, MiPermit) to track permits and violations
Maintaining accurate records and updating databases
Managing conflict through effective written and verbal communication
What we’re looking for:
We’re seeking candidates who can hit the ground running with strong experience in parking operations, ideally within a local authority setting. You will need:
Previous experience in a parking back-office environment (essential)
Experience handling data-intensive FOI requests (essential)
Proven ability to deal with complex and politically sensitive complaints (essential)
Strong attention to detail and excellent written communication skills
Confidence using parking management software and working with large datasets
