Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchaser to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for interpreting inventory management software and sales history to place, manage and arrange delivery of orders.
Responsibilities
* Review purchase order acknowledgements from suppliers, raise and resolve any discrepancies
* Monitor purchase orders in progress and liaise with suppliers to maintain accurate delivery dates
* Liaise with suppliers for overdue purchase orders and outstanding deliveries
* Ensure shipment tracking details and invoicing are kept up to date.
* Reconcile invoices and work with the Purchase Ledger team to resolve accounting queries.
* Ensure packing and labelling materials are distributed to suppliers in a timely fashion, audited and adjusted on a regular basis.
* Liaise with Forwarders/Logistics providers to ensure cost effective and timely deliveries of import shipments
* Update Business Systems and Company Calendars to ensure visibility and accuracy of expected dates.
* Liaise with Suppliers, freight forwarders and Warehouse team to book and monitor deliveries
* Monitor outstanding sales orders & back orders. Liaise with colleagues, customers & suppliers to provide accurate information and delivery dates on outstanding items
* Source and purchase services and sundries relating to business operations. For instance, Janitorial and Stationary supplies, Logistics and couriers, Print and Marketing.
* Work with Purchasing team to review requirements against forecast, create and place orders with suppliers.
* Maintain Product Database, ensuring product details are kept up to date and as new skus are added. (Weight, Tariff Codes, Product Categories, RSP/Cost Prices, Accounting Codes)
* Create new product codes and assign GS1 barcode as required
* Work with the Purchasing Manager to keep systems under continuous review and improvement
* Work with Purchasing Manager to achieve & maintain key performance indicators including stock value, stock turn & OTIF.
Experience
* Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within a manufacturing or logistics environment.
* Knowledge of supply chain management principles and logistics operations.
* Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess supplier performance effectively.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
