Head of HR
London – Hybrid role
We are seeking an experienced Head of HR to join a large, complex organisation operating at national scale. This is a senior People leadership role for someone who is proactive, hands-on, and thrives in an environment with high autonomy and trust.
Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the People agenda across the business, partnering closely with senior operational leaders and driving impactful, pragmatic HR initiatives.
The Role
This is a broad, regional Head of HR role with responsibility for partnering senior leaders and leading a well established People function. You will balance strategic thinking with day to day operational delivery, bringing practical solutions rather than theory.
Key responsibilities:
* Acting as a trusted People partner to Managing Directors, Area Directors, and Area Managers
* Leading and developing a multi disciplinary People team
* Driving initiatives across EDI, employee engagement, performance management, and learning & development
* Managing complex employee relations matters, including TUPE and redundancy processes
* Supporting a culture of growth, honesty, and flexibility
* Shaping and delivering new People projects in an environment with significant scope for change and improvement
Experience:
* A self starter with a proactive, driven mindset
* Confident, resilient, and comfortable operating with senior stakeholders
* A pragmatic HR leader who values “real-world” experience over theory
* Comfortable working with a non-micromanaging, high-performing CPO
* A people-focused leader who enjoys seeing others grow and develop
* Able to balance honesty with flexibility and find common ground
* CIPD qualified (level flexible)
* Strong working knowledge of TUPE and redundancy processes
