Job description
THE EMPLOYER IS: H2O SWIMMING ACADEMY. The Trainee Swimming Instructor will work under the supervision of qualified swimming instructors to assist in the planning and delivery of high-quality swimming lessons. The role will involve supporting children and adults of all abilities to develop water confidence and swimming skills while completing formal training to achieve a recognised swimming teaching qualification.
Responsibilities
* Support qualified swimming instructors in the preparation and delivery of swimming lessons in line with the company’s teaching programme and safety standards.
* Supervise and assist participants in the pool and on poolside under supervision.
* Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment for all participants.
* Monitor swimmers’ progress and assist with basic skill assessments under the direction of the instructor.
* Prepare, set up, and tidy away equipment required for lessons.
* Provide excellent customer service to swimmers and parents, promoting a positive image of H2o Swimming Academy.
* Follow all company policies, procedures, and safeguarding guidelines.
* Attend and participate in all required training, meetings, and professional development activities.
* Work towards and successfully complete the required swimming teaching qualification.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
* Motivated with a genuine interest in swimming and working with children.
* Confident and comfortable in and around water.
* Able to follow instructions.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Willingness to learn and complete the full training programme.
* Ability to work as part of a team.
Desirable Skills
* Previous experience working with children (e.g., coaching, volunteering, babysitting, etc.).
* Basic knowledge of swimming techniques or previous participation in swimming lessons.
* Hold or be willing to obtain a valid First Aid or Safeguarding qualification.

The Employer is: H2O SWIMMING ACADEMY. JobStart Opportunity - Working Hours Information. Standard Hours: Up to 25 hours per week. Flexible/Reduced Hours: May be available upon approval by a Work Coach. Additional Hours: The employer may offer extra hours depending on availability.
