Band 3 Central Registration & Booking Clerk
Location: Portadown (moving to Lurgan from June 2026)
Job Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)
Pay Rate: £12.75 per hour | £17.22 per hour (Saturday rate)
Overview
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our public sector client for a Band 3 Central Registration & Booking Clerk. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator to join a busy healthcare environment, supporting patient booking and registration services.
Hours of Work (Shift Pattern)
Weeks 1-4 (Monday to Friday):
* 4 days: 08:00 – 16:00
* 1 day: 10:00 – 18:00
Week 5 (Monday to Saturday):
* 3 days: 08:00 – 16:00
* 1 day: 10:00 – 18:00
* 1 day: 08:00 – 11:30
* Saturday: 09:00 – 13:00
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Manage patient bookings, including contacting patients and processing appointments
* Handle incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring timely distribution
* Process correspondence and maintain accurate administrative records
* Prioritise workload and meet deadlines in line with service standards
* Respond to routine queries and escalate where necessary
* Maintain accurate manual and computerised systems
* Develop and manage filing systems as required
* Build effective working relationships with staff and the public
* Provide general administrative and clerical support as needed
Essential Criteria
Qualifications & Experience
* 4 GCSEs (Grades A-C), including English Language, AND at least 1 year’s administrative/clerical experience
OR
* Minimum of 2 years’ administrative/clerical experience
Skills
* Experience using Microsoft Word or equivalent systems
* Strong organisational and communication skills
