YOUR ROLE
Our dynamic Lead Logistics team based in Ashby de la Zouch has an exciting opportunity for a customer focused and accurate Operations Coordinator where you will oversee daily operations via air, ocean, and ground transportation and manage all communications with customers, global suppliers and 3PL providers via telephone and email.
This is a Monday to Friday, hybrid role after training period- 3 days in the office, 2 days at home. You will be required to work rotating shift, where you will work 08:00-16:30/09:00-17:30.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
* Coordinate and manage transport bookings in response to client requests.
* Enter and maintain shipment data to support non-standard or manual transport requests.
* Communicate with third-party logistics providers to arrange suitable transportation solutions.
* Collaborate with local logistics teams to manage bookings and track shipments.
* Ensure all logistics partners follow agreed collection and delivery procedures and update shipment milestones accordingly.
* Tender shipments to approved transport providers in line with business guidelines using relevant platforms.
* Handle customer queries and proactively resolve any transport-related issues.
* Monitor shipment progress and ensure accurate milestone updates across various systems.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
* Experience in the transport and logistics industry, with a focus on customer service.
* A self-motivated and well-organised individual who is comfortable being part of a team.
* Proficiency in using MS Office programs for effective communication and data management.
* Strong communication skills via phone and email; ability to handle delays, think on your feet in time-critical situations, and resolve issues promptly.
