Overview
Astute's Renewables team is working with a business that provides services to the UK's energy storage / battery storage / BESS market. They invest in, manage, develop and originate battery storage projects, and we are looking to add Field Service Engineers to their team to support the O&M function.
The Field Service Engineer role offers a salary up to £55,000 depending on experience, with potential for personal and professional growth. The business operates internationally, so there may be future scope for international work. Responsibilities and duties
* Reporting to the O&M Manager, you will perform preventative and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of battery storage assets
* Troubleshoot and diagnose issues, conduct warranty repairs and commissioning works
* Perform firmware and software system upgrades
* Provide diagnostic and technical phone support to clients and customers as required
* Conduct risk assessments and implement necessary safety measures
* Where applicable, assist the in-house development team with hands-on knowledge and advice through development phases of projects
* Inspect equipment and carry out regular capacity tests
* Log all activity in the internal system
* Occasional travel for business needs, staying overnight where necessary; the role is patch-based but there may be nationwide travel
* Other duties as required
Professional qualifications
* At least a Level 3 electrical installation qualification
* ECS Gold Card is highly preferable
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
* HVAP is desirable and the financials would be adjusted accordingly
* Clean UK driving licence
* Experience in O&M in large-scale renewables, ideally battery storage (open to solar, wind and other renewables)

* Committed, diligent and looking to progress
* Happy to travel extensively
* Looking to affect change in the Renewable Energy industry
