We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Senior Reporting & Systems Developer to join our MIS team at Abingdon & Witney College. This role is pivotal in shaping the college's data-driven decision-making and ensuring our systems evolve to meet future educational and operational needs. You will work across multiple platforms, using a range of technical tools to develop solutions that support the college's strategic objectives. Salary and Working Arrangements
* Salary: £38,248 - £39,751 per annum
* Hours per week: 37
* Weeks per Annum: 52
* Working pattern: Monday to Thursday 7.5 hours per day, Friday 7 hours per day
* Location: Abingdon Campus
* Contract type: Permanent

Job Responsibilities
* Develop, maintain and support college MIS platforms such as EBS, iTrent, and associated systems.
* Design, build, and publish dynamic reports using tools like MS SQL Server, VBA, MS Access, SSRS, and Power BI to meet evolving business requirements.
* Engage with stakeholders to understand reporting and system needs, offering technical solutions and expert advice.
* Respond to, troubleshoot, and escalate system and reporting issues as required, liaising with internal IT teams and external software providers.
* Promote best practices and continuous improvement through system optimisation and process automation (e.g., Workflow, Writeback).
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of all systems, reports, and processes.
* Monitor data quality and accuracy across outputs, taking appropriate action or escalation when needed.
* Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical staff to ensure shared understanding and effective collaboration.
* Deputise for the Data Development Manager as required.
Essential Experience
* Strong experience with: SQL Server, VBA, MS Access, SSRS, Power BI, Further Education management systems (e.g., EBS, iTrent).
* Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.
* Experience maintaining accurate records and producing high-quality documentation.
* Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
* Ability to manage workload under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
* Strong analytical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting abilities.
* Capability to understand business needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.
