Supply Desk is delighted to be working in partnership with a friendly and supportive primary school in the Henley-on-Thames area to appoint a passionate and dedicated Year 4 Class Teacher. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming school community and play a key role in supporting pupils as they progress through Lower Key Stage 2.
This role would suit an enthusiastic and committed teacher with a strong understanding of KS2 expectations, who is dedicated to helping pupils build on their prior learning and achieve their full potential.
The Role
As a Year 4 Teacher, you will support pupils in developing greater independence and confidence in their learning, while strengthening their knowledge and skills across the KS2 curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated Year 4 lessons in line with the KS2 national curriculum
Support pupils’ development in reading, writing, maths, and SPaG
Consolidate prior learning while preparing pupils for upper KS2 expectations
Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
Monitor and assess pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and targeted interventions
Support children with a range of abilities, including those with SEN
Promote pupils’ confidence, independence, and resilience
Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and colleagues
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the wider school team
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – desirable
Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 4 or Lower KS2
Strong understanding of KS2 curriculum expectations
Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Engaging, adaptable, and nurturing teaching style
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work full-time in the Henley-on-Thames (RG) area from September
Desirable
Previous experience teaching Year 4
Strong understanding of progression within KS2
Experience using assessment data to track and accelerate pupil progress
Experience supporting children with SEN
Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
