The Role
We are looking for a detail oriented and proactive Finance Assistant (Sales Ledger) to join the team in Melksham. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in finance who enjoys working in a family run, collaborative environment and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records while supporting business operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Raising sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner
* Posting customer payments and processing credit notes
* Reconciling customer accounts and maintaining accurate sales ledger records
* Monitoring outstanding balances and issuing customer statements
* Proactively chasing overdue payments
* Resolving invoice and payment queries efficiently
* Liaising with customers and internal departments to investigate and resolve discrepancies
* Supporting external accountants with year-end processes
* Assisting with month-end reporting and audit requirements
What were looking for
* Between 3-4 year's experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar role with strong sales ledger exposure
* Familiar with the system software Sage
* Comfortable working within an SME or family run business environment
* Detail focused with strong organisational skills
* An excellent communicator who can confidently build relationships with customers, colleagues and senior stakeholders
* Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team
