As an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and well-structured lessons that support students in developing their reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills. Main Responsibilities as an English Teacher: Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum. Teach a range of texts, genres, and writing styles to develop student understanding and enjoyment of English. Support students in improving their reading comprehension, written communication, and critical thinking skills. Encourage confident spoken English through discussion, presentations, and group work. Adapt teaching to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities, including those with additional educational needs. Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement. Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement, and achievement in the classroom. Contribute to departmental resources and wider school literacy initiatives where required. Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that encourages academic success. English Teacher Minimum Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification. Experience teaching English within a secondary school setting. Strong classroom and behaviour management skills. Ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities. Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
