Junior Project Manager - Groundwater & DewateringLocation: Suffolk (site-based across Suffolk and neighbouring counties, with office support)Contract: Permanent, Full-TimeSalary: Up to £30,000 per annum (depending on experience)Reporting to: Senior Project Manager / Operations ManagerRole OverviewWe are seeking a Junior Project Manager to support the delivery of groundwater control and construction dewatering projects across Suffolk and the wider region.This role suits someone with hands-on site or project support experience who is looking to progress into project management within a specialist engineering environment. You will work closely with experienced engineers and project managers, supporting projects from pre-construction through installation, operation and demobilisation of dewatering systems.No degree is required. The role focuses on practical experience, strong organisation and a willingness to learn.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Delivery & CoordinationSupport planning and delivery of groundwater control and dewatering systems, including wellpoints, deepwells, horizontal drainage, ejectors and pumping systemsAssist with day-to-day coordination of site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and plantTrack site progress, key milestones and programme interfacesSupport mobilisation and demobilisation of dewatering installationsCommercial & Programme SupportAssist with cost tracking, commercial administration and variationsSupport preparation of programmes, method statements and risk assessments (RAMS)Maintain clear and accurate project documentation and recordsHealth, Safety & EnvironmentSupport implementation of health and safety procedures on live construction sitesAssist with site inductions, toolbox talks and compliance checksHelp ensure environmental controls, groundwater monitoring and discharge compliance are maintainedClient & Stakeholder LiaisonSupport communication with clients, main contractors and consultantsAttend site coordination and progress meetings as requiredAssist in responding to technical or site-based queriesLearning & DevelopmentDevelop a practical understanding of groundwater behaviour, hydrogeology and dewatering techniquesGain exposure to pump testing, monitoring data and system optimisationBuild project management capability across planning, delivery and site operationsPerson SpecificationEssentialExperience in construction, engineering, groundworks, utilities or a project support roleStrong organisational skills and attention to detailClear communication and a proactive, hands-on approachWillingness to work on active construction sites across Suffolk and surrounding countiesBasic understanding of construction environments and site safetyCompetent using Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookFull UK driving licence (or working towards)DesirableExperience with dewatering, pumping systems, groundworks or civil engineeringAwareness of CDM RegulationsExperience supporting site managers, engineers or project teamsInterest in groundwater management or specialist construction techniquesWhat's OfferedSalary up to £30,000 depending on experienceClear progression into project management within a specialist disciplineHands-on learning alongside experienced engineers and project managersExposure to technically challenging projects across the regionLong-term career development opportunities
