Overview
GE’s Power Conversion business, part of GE Vernova, provides electrification systems that are critical to customers’ power and energy needs for their high-performance applications. We work with some of the world’s major energy, maritime and industrial organizations, helping to enable a transition to energy efficiency and decarbonization, including through our specialist motors, drives and control technologies. At Rotating Machines Rugby (RMR), we design and build technically advanced electrical rotating machinery: motors and generators, for a wide variety of industrial applications. Our motors power some of the world’s most advanced warships, while our generators decarbonise industry for a more sustainable future. The Manufacturing Readiness & Technologies Team is part of the RMR Engineering Department and consists of Manufacturing Engineers responsible for the development and implementation of new manufacturing technologies. We drive improvements to execution, efficiency, and cost reduction through Lean Manufacturing techniques and innovative ideas, and ensure all preparations are in place so that new projects can be manufactured efficiently and on time. Reporting to the Manufacturing Readiness & Technologies Leader, the Manufacturing Readiness Engineer leads preparations for manufacturing to ensure safe, right-first-time execution that can start and finish on schedule. Working cross-functionally to ensure everything is in place and ready prior to manufacture, providing technical leadership and active support of project builds during execution.
