Accounts Assistant
Location: Edinburgh BMW
Hours: Full-Time
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our team. The primary responsibility is to support the dealership accountant in preparing and analyzing key financial information for multiple motor dealerships within our group.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Complete daily cashing up and banking, reporting issues to the relevant Manager.
2. Conduct weekly credit control reviews and communicate issues to the Accountant and Manager as needed.
3. Process supplier invoices and submit for management approval.
4. Monitor Sales and Purchase Ledgers for errors and unallocated postings.
5. Maintain stock levels of stationery and process orders with proper authorization.
6. Collaborate with the team to cover all aspects of accounts functions.
Securing the Long-Term Efficacy of the Site:
1. Administer clerical and reporting procedures efficiently across the department.
2. Ensure accounts systems comply with company and manufacturer guidelines.
3. Meet all month-end, quarterly, and annual deadlines.
4. Stay informed about legislation relevant to the Accounts Administrator role.
5. Perform consistently, even under pressure.
Customer Focus:
1. Work with colleagues to deliver excellent customer service that exceeds expectations.
2. Provide consistent service to internal and external customers, including retailer and manufacturer representatives.
3. Maintain good communication and information flow within the team.

1. Interpret data into meaningful financial insights.

4. Perform other duties as requested by a Manager, in line with the role.

This role involves daily interaction with site and Group Management. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with a positive, proactive attitude, are essential for managing high workloads and conflicting priorities calmly and effectively.
Excellent IT skills, particularly proficiency in MS Office applications like MS Excel, are required. Knowledge of Keyloop Autoline and experience in the motor trade are advantageous but not essential.
