Job Title: Process Engineer (CNC Team Leader)
Location: Dudley
Job Type: Permanent up to £20 - £21 per hour
Working Hours (Rotating Shifts): Morning Shift: Monday - Thursday 06:00 - 14:00 | Friday 06:00 - 11:00; Afternoon Shift: Monday - Thursday 14:00 - 22:00 | Friday 11:00 - 15:00. Shifts rotate on a weekly basis.
Responsibilities
* Lead and support a team of CNC operators within the machine shop
* Set up and operate CNC machinery
* Input and run pre-written CNC programmes accurately and efficiently
* Carry out tool changes and ensure machines are running to optimal performance
* Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure precision and quality
* Train, mentor, and develop new employees, taking them under your wing to build capability within the team
* Monitor production output, quality, and efficiency, ensuring targets are met
* Maintain a safe, clean, and organised working environment
* Act as a key point of contact between shop floor staff and management
* Management of work in progress (WIP) according to planned production date
* Inspect parts with precision & measuring tools; provide documentation to support (Part Data)
* Lead and support immediate countermeasures, root cause analysis & corrective actions for all notified quality defects or customer incidents
Qualifications
* Proven experience working within a CNC machining environment
* Previous experience in a supervisory or team leader role (preferred)
* Ability to input and run pre-written CNC programmes
* Strong understanding of tooling and tool changes
* Competent in reading and interpreting technical/engineering drawings
* A proactive approach to training and developing team members
* Strong communication and leadership skills
