Role: IPS Employment Specialist
Location: Derbyshire, Chesterfield, DE22 3LZ
Job Summary: You will support people with mental health needs to find meaningful employment. You’ll receive training and support, and work with the Derbyshire Healthcare mental health team.
Responsibilities
* Support and motivate individuals with mental health needs to access and sustain paid employment.
* Meet regularly with clients to help them identify job matches, reflect on skills and aspirations, and provide support including CV production and interview techniques.
* Provide in‑work support, assess work‑related needs, design return‑to‑work strategies, and ensure job retention through ongoing contact.
* Advocate for clients by educating and engaging with employers about the IPS service.
* Sourcing job opportunities through regular contact with local employers.
* Work with the Derbyshire Healthcare mental health team to promote employment and raise expectations around service users’ ability to access paid employment.
Person Specification
Essential
* Employment advisory experience.
* Understanding of the impact of work as a recovery tool.
* Working knowledge of IPS, implementing individual programmes for people with mental health problems.
* Experience with employers and DWP.
* Excellent admin skills, ability to work autonomously.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport, engage service users toward vocational goals, plan and prioritise.
* Presentable knowledge of audits and data recording.
Desirable
* IPS training and mental health knowledge.
* Employability experience and supporting disadvantaged people into employment.
* Accurately recording data, excellent organisational and presentation skills.
* Understanding of MH services.
* Experience in coaching, recruitment, sales or training roles.

Contract & Salary
Contract: Permanent, Full‑time.
Salary: £31,049 to £37,796 per annum (Band 5).
