Full-Time Receptionist / Administrative Assistant – Maternity Cover Location: Chorley Start Date: November 3rd, 2025 Contract: 1 Year (Maternity Leave Cover) Hours: Full-time, Term Time Only We are looking for a friendly, professional, and highly organised Receptionist / Administrative Assistant to join our school office team in Chorley for a 1-year maternity cover, starting November 3rd, 2025. This is a key front-of-house role within the school, where you’ll be the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and staff—helping to ensure the smooth running of daily operations. Key Responsibilities: Manage reception duties including answering calls, welcoming visitors, and handling enquiries Provide general administrative support to the school team Maintain accurate records, files, and databases Assist with attendance monitoring and communications to parents Support with correspondence, school newsletters, and document preparation Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion Requirements: Previous experience in a school or office administration role preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, SIMS or other school systems desirable) Ability to multitask, prioritise, and remain calm under pressure Friendly, approachable, and professional manner Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) We Offer: A supportive and welcoming team environment A varied role with real impact on the day-to-day running of the school Training and professional development opportunities A rewarding position in a busy and friendly school office Ready to join our team?
