One-to-One Humanities Tutors Required (Alternative Provision - Wokingham Area)
We are seeking dedicated one-to-one Humanities tutors, ideally qualified teachers, to provide off-site educational support to students in and around Wokingham who are currently out of mainstream education .
While the primary focus is on KS3 and KS4 Humanities, tutors should be willing to work with primary-aged pupils where required, depending on placement needs.
This role is particularly well suited to teachers looking to step away from the pressures of mainstream classrooms and move into part-time, flexible work, while continuing to make a meaningful impact through focused, individual support.
Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available.
About the Role
* Part-time, flexible 1-to-1 Humanities tuition
* Primarily KS3 and KS4, with occasional primary placements
* Students are typically accessing alternative provision
* Off-site education delivered locally within the Wokingham area
* Work available until at least September and likely beyond
Student Profile & Focus
Students may present with SEMH needs, anxiety, school refusal, or previous exclusion, and require a calm, consistent, relationship-led approach.
Tuition may include:
* KS3 and KS4 History, Geography, or Religious Studies
* GCSE preparation where appropriate
* Developing subject knowledge, analytical skills, and written responses
* Supporting re-engagement with learning and exam confidence
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status preferred (Humanities specialism desirable)
* Strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
* Willingness to support primary-aged pupils where required
* Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred)
* Ability to travel locally
* Experience with SEMH or alternative provision highly desirable

* Rate dependent on experience and qualifications
